Alan Gordon replaces injured Jordan Morris on USA's roster vs. Mexico

LA Galaxy veteran forward Alan Gordon has replaced the injured Jordan Morris on the USA's roster vs. Mexico and Costa Rica, U.S. Soccer announced on Tuesday.

Morris suffered a hamstring injury in the Seattle Sounders' Western Conference semifinal second leg against FC Dallas, in which the Sounders prevailed. The injury is enough to prevent Morris from taking part following a rookie season in MLS in which he scored 12 goals and had four assists. He also assisted on a goal in the Sounders' first-leg rout of FC Dallas.

Gordon has two U.S. caps to his name, most notably assisting on a key goal in the 2014 World Cup cycle in a 2-1 win over Antigua and Barbuda in CONCACAF's semifinal round.

Gordon had three goals and an assist in 22 games with the Galaxy this season.

The other forwards on the U.S. roster are Jozy Altidore, Bobby Wood and Aron Johannsson.
