AC Milan chief hails Balotelli's change in attitude

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has praised on-loan striker Mario Balotelli for his "radical change in attitude".

The Italian striker has returned to Milan on a season-long loan deal from Liverpool after failing to make an impact at Anfield in his first season following a £16million permanent transfer from Milan.

Galliani told Sky Italia: "He (Balotelli) has had an extraordinary approach, he has changed radically.

"He is the first to arrive and the last to leave (Milan's training ground) Milanello.

"(AC Milan coach Sinisa) Mihajlovic wants for the players to have breakfast at 8:30 and he is there before that at 8:00.

"If he continues to have the same approach shown in the first week he will do well with us.

"This is his last opportunity of his career and I don't think he will throw it away."

Balotelli left out of Liverpool's pre-season tour of the Far East and Australia and trained away from the first team as Brendan Rodgers looked to move on the striker.

Balotelli scored 26 goals in 43 appearances for Milan after joining the club from Manchester City in January 2013.

The Italy international was an unused substitute in Milan's 2-1 victory over Empoli in Serie A last weekend and could make his second debut for the club in the Milan derby at Inter Milan on September 13.
