Year of the DB: Deommodore Lenoir - Bishop Mora Salesian HS

Kicking off our 20th season of CIF Southern Section football, we're dubbing 2016 the 'Year of the Defensive Back' and getting to know some of the best 'ballhawks' in high school football.

First up on our tour of the best defensive backs in the SoCal, we've got Bishop Mora Salesian High School's Deommodore Lenoir.

A four-star recruit according to Scout.com, Lenoir is ranked as the No. 4 defensive back in California and No. 9 in the nation at the position. Verbally committed to play at the University of Oregon next year, Lenoir's slated to move from cornerback to safety this season after originally starting his high school career as a running back.

The 6-foot senior is seen as a physical, hard-nosed player that runs very well. Lenoir's meticulous preparation can be seen in his excellent technique on the field and he has a considerable football IQ.

Our own John Jackson put Lenoir through his paces on the practice field and even lined up against the soon-to-be safety.

Don't quit your day job, JJ.
