Xavier picks up 4th basketball recruit for 2014
Xavier's 2014 recruiting class grew to four Tuesday night with the verbal commitment of Sean O'Mara, a center from Illinois.
O'Mara, a 6-8, 235-pounder, chose to be a Musketeer over offers from Wichita State and Loyola-Chicago.
The Lisle Benet Academy product is a Scout.com three-star prospect rated the No. 25 center in the country among seniors.
"O'Mara is a big and physical post player," Scout recruiting analyst Brian Snow told Fox Sports Ohio. "He is a position guy who isn't a great athlete, but he really knows how to play. The thing O'Mara does best is pass the ball. He is an elite passer for a center and someone who can score as well. He will need to get stronger and continue to learn how to finish over more athletic players, but he fills a solid role for Xavier."
Previously pledging to Xavier and head coach Chris Mack are three-star shooting guard Edmond Sumner of Detroit Country Day, four-star shooting guard J.P. Macura of Lakeville (Minn.) North and four-star forward Makinde London of Tennessee who attends Montverde Academy in Florida.
