Xavier announces 2013-14 non-conference schedule

CINCINNATI – Xavier released dates for its 2013-14 non-conference men’s basketball schedule Tuesday afternoon, including the Dec. 14 Skyline Chili Crosstown Classic at US Bank Arena against Cincinnati.

The Musketeers, who finished 17-14 last season, have just one true road game on the non-conference, at Alabama on Dec. 21. It is the first in a two-year contract with Alabama, which will play at the Cintas Center in the 2014-15 season. Xavier will host Tennessee, Miami University and the Skip Prosser Classic against Wake Forest as part of their eight home games outside of Big East play.

The 18-game Big East schedule will be announced at a later date. Xavier will play home-and-home series against the other nine members of the realigned league.

Xavier will play in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in the Bahamas in late November. The field for the tournament includes Kansas, Iowa, Tennessee, Wake Forest, South Carolina, Villanova and UTEP.
