WR Lee Evans signs 1-year deal with Jaguars

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Free agent receiver Lee Evans has signed a one-year deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars, upgrading the team's weakest position and giving it a potential deep threat.

Evans spent seven seasons with the Buffalo Bills (2004-10) and was with the Baltimore Ravens last year. Evans has 381 receptions for 6,008 yards and 43 touchdowns in 118 games.

He averaged at least 15.4 yards per catch in seven of his eight seasons. He had a career-high 1,292 yards receiving in 2006.

Evans was traded to the Ravens last August and appeared in nine games with two starts. He missed seven games with an ankle injury. He caught four passes for 69 yards in two postseason games.

The Jaguars previously signed Laurent Robinson to upgrade their receiving corps.
