Wolves sign Greg Smith for remainder of season

The Minnesota Timberwolves have signed forward/center Greg Smith for the remainder of the season.

The 25-year-old Smith was signed to a 10-day contract on March 2 and a second 10-day contract on March 12. He is averaging 2.3 points and 1.6 rebounds in 10.3 minutes over nine games for the Wolves this season.

Smith appeared in 16 games with the Raptors 905 in the NBA D-League this season, averaging 12.4 points and 8.3 rebounds in 27.9 minutes per game. He has averaged 14.8 points and 8.1 rebounds in 47 career games in the D-League.

A four-year NBA veteran, Smith spent three seasons with the Houston Rockets (2011-14) before joining the Dallas Mavericks in 2014-15. He holds career averages of 4.2 points and 3.4 rebounds in 12.5 minutes over 131 career games (12 starts).
