Wolves sign Andrew Wiggins' brother, Nick, center Kleon Penn
The Minnesota Timberwolves announced a pair of signings on Friday, including one who has close ties to star Andrew Wiggins.
Minnesota signed center Kleon Penn and guard Nick Wiggins. Nick Wiggins is the older brother of Andrew Wiggins.
Nick Wiggins, 24, appeared in three games for the Timberwolves during their 2015 summer-league slate, averaging 4.0 points in 11 minutes per contest. A 6-foot-6 Wichita State product, he spent parts of last season with the Idaho Stampede of the NBA D-League, averaging 9.8 points and 2.0 rebounds per game. Nick Wiggins started the year in Germany, playing with the Tigers Tubingen. He had spent two years at Wichita State before going undrafted in 2014.
Penn, 29, most recently played with Vaqueros de Bayamon in Puerto Rico, averaging 4.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game. The 6-11 center finished his college career at McNeese State in 2009.
With the Timberwolves, Nick Wiggins will wear No. 6 while Penn will don No. 50.
Minnesota now has 19 players on its roster.
