Wolves assign Payne to D-League

Adreian Payne is headed to the D-League.

The Minnesota Timberwolves announced the move on Monday, sending Payne to the Erie BayHawks.

The big-bodied forward has appeared in 30 games for the Timberwolves this season while averaging 9.5 minutes per game, while averaging just 2.7 points and 2.0 rebounds per game.

Payne was assigned to the BayHawks, the D-League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, via the league's flexible assignment system, as the Timberwolves do not have their own D-League affiliate.
