With Hutton set to become a father, Blues recall Husso from San Antonio

The Blues recalled Ville Husso from the AHL San Antonio Rampage on Saturday.

ST. LOUIS -- With goaltender Carter Hutton facing the possibility of missing time over the next few days as he and his wife await the birth of their first child, the St. Louis Blues have added some extra depth in goal, recalling goalie Ville Husso from the AHL San Antonio Rampage on Saturday morning.

The 22-year-old Husso has appeared in three games with the Rampage this season, posting a 2-1-0 record along with a 2.69 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage. In 2016-17, the 6-foot-2, 205-pound goaltender logged a 13-6-0 mark, including a 2.37 goals-against average and a .920 save percentage, in 22 regular season games with the AHL’s Chicago Wolves.

Husso did not allow a goal while facing 36 shots with the Blues this preseason. He played all 60 minutes in the Blues' 4-0 exhibition win over the Washington Capitals on Sept. 22.

A native of Helsinki, Finland, Husso was originally drafted by the Blues in the fourth round (94th overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
