Wisconsin-Nebraska pregame notes

Here are some notes, tidbits and stats heading for Saturday's game between the Wisconsin Badgers and Nebraska Cornhuskers:   

-- This is the 10th meeting between Wisconsin and Nebraska with the Badgers leading the all-time series 5-4. However, Wisconsin is 0-3 at Nebraska.

-- Wisconsin is 3-1 against the Cornhuskers since Nebraska joined the Big Ten.

-- Under Paul Chryst this season, Wisconsin is 3-1 when scoring first, 0-1 when the opponent scores first, 3-1 when leading after the first quarter, 0-1 when trailing after the first quarter, 3-0 when leading at halftime, 0-2 when trailing at halftime, 3-0 when leading after the third quarter and 0-2 when trailing after the third quarter.

-- A Badgers tight end hasn't had a 100-yard receiving game since Lance Kendricks did it in back-to-back weeks in 2010 vs. Arizona State on Sept. 18 and Austin Peay on Sept. 25, a 69-game drought.

-- Wisconsin hasn't allowed a kick return of longer than 26 yards this season. Nebraska is averaging 18.0 yards per kick return, which ranks 106th in the nation.

-- Wisconsin has had six 100-yard rushers against Nebraska, including three over 200 yards.

-- Wisconsin has had three 200-yard passers against Nebraska -- Gregg Bohling in 1974, Russell Wilson in 2011 and Joel Stave in 2012.

-- Wisconsin has had two 100-yard receivers against Nebraska -- Jeff  Back in 1974 and Jared Abbrederis in 2012.

-- Joel Stave had had 21 games in which he has thrown at least 19 passes. In those 21, he has thrown at least one interception in 16 of them.

-- Stave needs 3 passing touchdowns to tie John Stocco for 2nd place on UW's all-time list.

-- Stave's next interception will break a tie with Mike Howard and Mike Carroll for 4th place on UW's all-time interceptions list. With two interceptions he'll tie and three will pass Tony Lowery and Randy Wright for 2nd place on UW's all-time interceptions list. Nine INTs will tie Darrell Bevell for the most in UW history. (Note: INTs since 1956, although doubtful anyone previous had more.)

-- Alex Erickson needs 3 receiving yards to pass Tom McCauley for 19th place, 18 yards to pass Michael Jones for 18th place, 72 yards to pass Mel Reddick for 17th place and 146 yards to pass Jacob Pedersen for 16th place on UW's all-time list.

-- Joe Schobert needs 4 tackles for loss to tie Tim Jordan, O'Brien Schofield and Nick Greisen for 14th place on UW's all-time list.

-- Schobert needs 2 sacks to tie DeAndre Levy for 15th place and 2.5 to tie Matt Shaughnessy for 11th place on UW's all-time list.

-- Schobert needs 1 sack to tie Bryan Jurewicz (1996) and Mike Thompson (1993) for 7th place, 2 to tie Tim Jordan (1985) and Darryl Sims (1982) for 5th place and 3 to tie Tarek Saleh (1995) and O'Brien Schofield (2009) for 3rd place on UW's all-time single-season list.

-- Schobert needs 1 forced fumble to tie and 2 to pass Erasmus James for 2nd place on UW's all-time list.

-- Schobert needs 1 forced fumble to tie and 2 to pass Chris Borland (2009 & 2011) for 1st place on UW's all-time single-season list.

-- Vince Biegel needs .5 sacks to tie Brendan Kelly for 14th place and 1 to tie and 1.5 to pass Jonathan Welsh and Joe Schobert (pending) for 13th place on UW's all-time list.

-- Drew Meyer needs 58 yards punting to pass Brad Nortman for 4th place on UW's all-time list.

-- Rafael Gaglianone needs one field goal to pass Vince Lamia for 9th place and four to tie John Hall and Vitaly Pisetsky for 7th place on UW's all-time list.

-- Gaglianone needs three field-goal attempts to tie and four to pass Steven Veith for 10th place on UW's all-time list.

-- Gaglianone needs three extra points to pass Matt Davenport for 9th place and four to tie and five to pass Vitaly Pisetsky for 8th place on UW's all-time list.

-- Gaglianone needs one more 50+-yard field goal to join Taylor Mehlhaff and Philip Welch as the only to have three FGs from 50+ in Wisconsin history (Mehlhaff 52, 51, 51; Welch 57, 52, 50; Gaglianone 51, 50).
