Wings' Ouellet reassigned to Grand Rapids

After a two-game recall in which he did not participate, the Red Wings returned defenseman Xavier Ouellet to the Grand Rapids Griffins.

Call it a reward for his good effort in the 21 games he's played previously this season for Detroit.

Ouellet's recall enabled him to accompany his Wings teammates on their annual "dads and mentors trip" through Colorado and Arizona. Ouellet's father, Robert, is a former professional hockey player in France and Germany. Robert played on the French team in the 1998 Olympics in Nagano, Japan.

Ouellet has two goals and an assist, and is plus-3 with the Wings this season.
