Will Ferrell brings back Harry Caray for 'Late Show' with Letterman appearance
Will Ferrell crashed the "Late Show with David Letterman" on Monday night and did so with one of his best characters.
Ferrell made a surprise appearance, but he did so in character as former Chicago Cubs play-by-play man Harry Caray. During his time at "Saturday Night Live," some of Ferrrell's most memorable skits featured him impersonating the legendary broadcaster.
Letterman is in the stretch run of his career -- his final show is scheduled for May 20 -- and Ferrell's drop-by appearance, in which he name-checked Cubs greats like Mark Grace and Shawon Dunston, served as an impromptu farewell. Also, as you might expect, it was hilarious:
Ferrell's been a relatively frequent guest on Letterman as of late. After playing all nine positions in spring training games across Arizona, Ferrell appeared on "Letterman" dressed as a leprechaun where he also did his Caray impression.
