Wild trade Lucia, Bertschy for Devils defenseman Loov
The Minnesota Wild swapped forwards Christoph Bertschy and Mario Lucia for New Jersey Devils defenseman Viktor Loov, the team announced Thursday afternoon.
Loov, a seventh-round pick by Toronto in 2012, has two points in four career NHL games, all with the Maple Leafs in 2015-16. This season, the 25-year-old has tallied 17 points (5 goals, 12 assists) in 36 games with New Jersey's AHL affiliate Binghamton.
It has yet to be determined if Loov will join the Wild or be sent to Iowa.
Bertschy, 23, has appeared in nine NHL games with the Wild (one this season), totaling one assist and eight penalty minutes in his career. The Wild's sixth-round pick in 2012 tallied 17 points in 45 games with Iowa this season.
Lucia, the son of Minnesota Gophers head coach Don Lucia, has been in the Wild organization since he was selected 60th overall in 2011. The 24-year-old has racked up 15 points in 40 games with Iowa this season and owns 41 career AHL points. Lucia has yet to make his NHL debut.
