Wild sign Dumba to 2-year contract

The Minnesota Wild have signed defenseman Matt Dumba to a two-year deal worth $5.1 million.

Dumba was a restricted free agent.

The contract is set to pay out $2.35 million next season and $2.75 during the 2017-18 season, and has an annual cap hit of $2.55 million.

A bridge deal gives the 22-year-old defenseman room to grow over the next two years as he attempts to earn a long-term contract.

Dumba registered career highs in points (26), goals (10), assists (16) power-play goals (6) and game-winning goals (3).
