Wild recall Bertschy, Olofsson from AHL
The Minnesota Wild on Thursday recalled forward Christoph Bertschy and defenseman Gustav Olofsson from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League, under emergency conditions.
If Olofsson makes his NHL debut tonight at Carolina it would mark the first time a team has had three NHL debuts in three consecutive games since Anaheim had that happen in early 2013. That would also mark the first time that has happened over a three-game stretch in Wild history.
Bertschy, 21, totaled a pair of shots in 8 minutes, 8 seconds of ice time in his NHL debut on Nov. 7, against Tampa Bay. He has collected six points in 14 games with Iowa this season. Bertschy collected 30 points and a plus-14 rating in 44 games with SC Bern in the Swiss League in 2014-15. The 5-foot-10, 189-pound native of Switzerland was selected by Minnesota in the sixth round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft and wears sweater No. 47 with Minnesota.
Olofsson, 20, has recorded three assists in 15 games with Iowa this season. The 6-3, 197-pound native of Sweden has collected four points in 24 career games with Iowa. He was selected by Minnesota in the second round (46th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft and will wear sweater No. 23 for Minnesota.
