Wild reassign top prospect Alex Tuch to AHL

Minnesota Wild forward Alex Tuch is headed back to the AHL.

With a bye week looming and a crucial matchup against the Chicago Blackhawks on tap, the Minnesota Wild are sending one of their top prospects back to the AHL.

The Wild announced Sunday afternoon that rookie Alex Tuch has been reassigned to the Iowa Wild.

A former first-round pick and a product of the U.S. National Team Development Program, Tuch spent two seasons at Boston College before joining the Wild last year. He ranks second on the Iowa Wild in scoring with 25 points (12 goals, 13 assists) in 36 games.

Tuch has yet to register a point in six games since making his NHL debut on Dec. 4, and has a minus-3 rating over that span.
