Wild place Scandella on IR, recall Olofsson

The Minnesota Wild on Thursday announced that the club has recalled defenseman Gustav Olofsson from the Iowa Wild of the AHL under emergency conditions.

The team also placed defenseman Marco Scandella on injured reserve due to a lower-body injury suffered Tuesday at Pittsburgh.

Olofsson, 20, has recorded three assists in 17 games with Iowa this season. The 6-foot-3, 197-pound native of Sweden has collected four points in 26 career AHL contests. Olofsson was selected by Minnesota in the second round (46th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. He has yet to appear in an NHL game and will wear sweater No. 23 with Minnesota.

Minnesota completes a four-game trip tonight at Boston at 6 p.m. The game will be televised on FOX Sports North.
