Wild place Justin Fontaine on IR, assign Mike Reilly to Iowa

The Minnesota Wild made several roster moves on Tuesday.

The club placed forward Justin Fontaine on injured reserve, retroactive to Sept. 24, with an upper-body injury. Defenseman Mike Reilly was assigned to the Iowa Wild, the team's AHL affiliate. Forward Jordan Schroeder was placed on waivers, while forward Grayson Downing was designated an injured non-roster player.

Minnesota general manager Chuck Fletcher announced the transactions.

The Wild begin the 2015-16 regular season on Thursday at Colorado, where they play the Avalanche at 8 p.m. CT.
