Wild call up goalie Johan Gustafsson from Iowa
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- One day after goalie Josh Harding suffered an injury, the Minnesota Wild recalled Johan Gustafsson from the Iowa Wild of the AHL as insurance in net.
Harding exited Thursday’s 3-1 win over Carolina after two periods with what was classified only as a lower body injury. Harding appeared to suffer the injury with about six minutes remaining in the second period but remained in the game until intermission. He was replaced in the third period by Niklas Backstrom.
Gustafsson, 21, has played in three games for Iowa this year, posting a 2-0-0 record and a 1.99 goals-against average. He was a sixth-round pick of the Wild back in 2010.
An update on Harding's injury status is expected later Friday.
