Wild assign forward Gabriel to AHL's Iowa

The Minnesota Wild have reassigned forward Kurtis Gabriel to the AHL's Iowa Wild just hours after his NHL debut.

Gabriel was recalled for the second time this season after an injury to winger Zach Parise and logged limited minutes in a 5-3 win over the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old picked up five penalty minutes and one hit in just under three minutes of ice time after racking up 20 points and 171 penalty minutes in 84 career AHL games.

A third round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft (81st overall), Gabriel spent four season with the Ontario Hockey League's Owen Sound Attack, registering 51 points in 60 games during his final season with the club.
