Westbrook fractures hand, return date unknown

Now Russell Westbrook is hurt.

Yeah, really.

Westbrook joined Kevin Durant and a long list of other Thunder players who are injured when he fractured his hand after running into teammate Kendrick Perkins during the Thunder's 93-90 loss to the Clippers late Thursday night.

He will be re-evaluated Friday in Oklahoma City. Westbrook has a fracture of the second metacarpal in his right hand. The timetable for return is unknown, but could be up to about a month. Here's a look at the play where Westbrook was injured, via The Oklahoman's Anthony Slater:

Hard to believe, but already without enough players to practice, the Thunder have lost another. They returned to OKC Thursday night for its home opener Saturday, but by then who knows who will be available to play.

Durant is out with a fracture of his right foot, guard Reggie Jackson and Jeremy Lamb have not played this season wither. Jackson is out with an ankle injury. Lamb has back issues. Mitch McGary hurt his foot the first week of practice in October and free agent signee Anthony Morrow injured his knee last week in practice.

More?

Guard Sebastian Telfair hurt his thumb in the third quarter against the Clippers and forward Perry Jones has has knee soreness over the past few weeks. Center Kendrick Perkins missed all of the preseason with a quad injury and forwards Nick Collison and Serge Ibaka also missed time in the preseason with injuries.
