Welsh, Ball dominate in the second half to lead No. 5 UCLA past No. 4 Arizona

In a match-up of two Top 5 teams in the nation and PAC-12 powerhouses, the No. 5 UCLA Bruins rode a strong second half performance to a 77-72 victory at the No. 4 Arizona Wildcats.

Freshman standout Lonzo Ball paced the Bruins with eight assists, while leading scorer Thomas Welsh scored 12 of his team-high 14 points in the second half.

Arizona held a slim 43-29 lead at half but were unable stem the tide of the Bruins offensive rebounding despite a game-high 28 points from Allonzo Trier.

The win snapped the Wildcat's 21-game home winning streak and avenged a Bruins loss to Arizona 96-85 back on January 21.

With just a week to go in the PAC-12 season, the Wildcats now find themselves in a tie atop the PAC-12 with No. 6 Oregon, who survived a scare at rivals Stanford 75-73 on Saturday. Following the win, UCLA is now just one game back of the two front runners, while Oregon holds the tiebreaker over Arizona for the regular season title.

Saturday's game was the first time two PAC-12 teams in the Top 5 squared off in nine years.
