Week 6: Fantasy Football Starts and Sits

Starts:

QB - Sam Bradford, PHI

Las Vegas has the NYG/PHI game pegged with an over/under of 50. Last week, Colin Kaepernick threw for 262 yards and two TDs against the Giants. Bradford has tallied at least 270 passing yards and two touchdown passes in back-to-back games.

Other notables: Blake Bortles (JAC), Joe Flacco (BAL), and Eli Manning (NYG)

RB - Ronnie Hillman, DEN

Well, we know that a running back will do well against the Browns. An RB has recorded at least 100 yards of offense in four of the past five games. Tennessee was the only team not to reach that bench mark. Though C.J. Anderson has eight more carries than Hillman, it is the "backup" who has more rushing yards. Hillman's 212 yards is also accompanied by a 4.6 yards per carry. Anderson's average is a lowly 2.6 ypc.

Other notables: T.J. Yeldon (JAC), Charcandrick West (KC), and Duke Johnson Jr. (CLE)

WR - Golden Tate, DET

In Week 5, Tate tallied 18 targets against Arizona. Last year, when facing the Bears, Tate averaged 10 targets, 6.5 receptions, and 75.5 receiving yards. This season, Chicago has allowed eight receiving TDs to opposing wide receivers, which is third-most in the league.

Other notables: Mike Wallace (MIN), Allen Hurns (JAC), and Marquess Wilson (CHI)

TE - Zach Ertz, PHI

We already mentioned the over/under in his game, but how about the Giants defense. New York has allowed 20.4 fantasy points per game to opposing TEs. Ertz is second on the Eagles in receiving yards (164) and targets (26). Week 5 was this season's best for Ertz, thus far: 5 catches, 7 targets, and 60 yards.

Other notables: Julius Thomas (JAC), Jordan Cameron (MIA), and Larry Donnell (NYG)

Sits:

QB - Josh McCown, CLE

It seems as though McCown's streak of 300-yard passing games will end at three. The Broncos have yet to allow an opposing QB to throw for over 290 yards in a game this season. Also, the Denver D hasn't allowed more than one TD pass in a game.

Others include: Ryan Fitzpatrick (NYJ), Marcus Mariota (TEN), and Ryan Tannehill (MIA)

RB - Jonathan Stewart, CAR

Though he's coming off of the bye, Stewart is facing the best defense against the run. Plus, a running back has yet to score against Seattle this season. Stewart's season hasn't been great, either. In the first four games, JStew hasn't rushed for more than 62 yards in a game.

Others include: Ameer Abdullah (DET), Jeremy Hill (CIN), and Bishop Sankey (TEN)

WR - Jamison Crowder, WAS

Crowder has been a pleasant surprise for Washington in the last three games. In his past two performances, Crowder has combined for 20 targets, 15 receptions, and 152 yards. However, he will run into a buzzsaw this week against the Jets. The AFC's NY has allowed only three receiving TDs to opposing WRs this season. Also, only Donte Moncrief was able to break the 100-yard plateau against the Jets.

Others include: Marvin Jones (CIN), Travis Benjamin (CLE), and Markus Wheaton (PIT)

TE - Jimmy Graham, SEA

Graham has struggled to get his catches in a majority of games this season and that trend will likely continue against the Panthers in Week 6. Carolina is the best at defending the TE this season. However, to Graham's credit, the quality of TE that has faced the Panthers has not been up to Graham's quality. Still, if other options are available, it is probably best to go another route.

Others include: Derek Carrier (WAS), Heath Miller (PIT), and Kyle Rudolph (MIN)
