Week 11: Fantasy Football Starts and Sits

Starts:

QB - Tony Romo, DAL (@ MIA)

I'm seeing a lot of concern from fantasy owners about Romo and his need to shake off the rust before starting him in their lineups. Fear not. If you recall, in October, Jerry Jones stated that Romo would be ready to play by Week 10. Unfortunately, the IR rules stated that Romo needed to miss eight games. Also, this defense is one of the easier matchups that Dallas has on the docket for the rest of 2015.

Other notables: Carson Palmer (ARI), Matthew Stafford (DET), Tyrod Taylor (BUF)

RB - Charcandrick West, KC (@ SD)

Unfortunately, the Browns are on a bye, so we have to look elsewhere for our featured running back. On the bright side, San Diego's run defense is the new target. Jeremy Langford torched the Chargers for 142 total yards of offense last week. San Diego now allows 122.9 rushing yards per game and the highest average of points to opposing fantasy RBs. As for West, he has acquired over 120 total yards and a TD in three straight games.

Other notables: Darren McFadden (DAL), Marshawn Lynch (SEA), Frank Gore (IND)

WR - Stevie Johnson, SD (vs. KC)

Without Keenan Allen and, likely, Malcom Floyd, Johnson becomes the default No. 1 WR for the Chargers. In his last game, Johnson was targeted 10 times and made seven receptions for a total of 68 yards. This week, he gets a Chiefs defense that allows the second-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers, too.

Other notables: Danny Amendola (NE), Sammy Watkins (BUF), Michael Floyd (ARI)

TE - Eric Ebron, DET (vs. OAK)

We are back to picking on the Raiders defense when it comes to bargain TEs. Ebron has been targeted at least five times in each of the past three games. In Week 10, it was Rhett Ellison who found the end zone (sorry, Kyle Rudolph investors). That makes it 10 touchdowns this season to opposing TEs.

Other notables: Coby Fleener (IND), Zach Miller (CHI), Richard Rogers (GB)

Sits:

QB - Jay Cutler, CHI (vs. DEN)

This season, only one quarterback has eclipsed 20 fantasy points against the Denver Broncos defense (Andrew Luck). Denver has only allowed 1,645 passing yards (180 less than the second place defense). The Broncos also continue to lead the league in sacks (32) and fewest TD passes allowed (eight).

Others include: Mark Sanchez (PHI), Brock Osweiler (DEN), Ryan Fitzpatrick (NYJ)

RB - T.J. Yeldon, JAC (vs. TEN)

Yeldon was in a walking boot on Monday and didn't practice on Tuesday. That's not a good sign for someone who has a game on Thursday. Also, the Titans defense allows the fewest points per game to opposing running backs. All of this suggests that you should look elsewhere when it comes to your RB spot.

Others include: Carlos Hyde (SF), Alfred Blue (HOU), Melvin Gordon (SD)

WR - TY Hilton, IND (@ ATL)

Matt Hasselbeck returns as the starting QB for the Colts with Andrew Luck on the shelf for the next 2-6 weeks. In the two games Hasselbeck played in this season (vs. Jags, @ Texans), Hilton averaged 77.5 receiving yards on six receptions and zero TDs. Also, Atlanta has allowed only one TD to opposing wide receivers since Week 5.

Others include: Torrey Smith (SF), Chris Givens (BAL), Tavon Austin (STL)

TE - Charles Clay, BUF (@ NE)

In Week 2, Clay scored a touchdown against the Patriots, but he only tallied 19 yards on three catches. That is his fewest yards total in a game where Clay caught at least two passes. This season, only one TE has surpassed 56 receiving yards in a game against the Patriots (Heath Miller).

Others include: Jared Cook (STL), Owen Daniels (DEN), Jordan Cameron (MIA)
