WATCH: Fan runs on field to fight pitcher who plunked batter
Well, this is highly unusual.
At Sunday's Double-A game between the Midland RockHounds (Athletics) and Corpus Christi Hooks (Astros), a fan ran onto the field to fight Midland pitcher Blake Hassebrock after he hit Corpus Christi outfielder Telvin Nash with a pitch.
Police say the fan in question, 35-year-old Nikolas Swope, was under the influence of alcohol. Swope faces a charge of criminal trespassing and is accused of threatening assault.
In the video above, Swope gets right in front of Hassebrock before the umpires and players intervene.
