Watch: Cubs' Javy Baez surprises a high school in Chicago

Cubs infielder Javier Baez came to see a group of high school students at Aspira Business and Finance School on Thursday, to the surprise of an entire auditorium.

Students thought they were in for a run-of-the-mill assembly, but out of nowhere, Baez emerged. According to NBC 5 in Chicago, which has the footage, the school was filled with Baez fans this fall as the Cubs made their World Series run.

Baez spoke to students, inspiring them to work hard, and took some photos. He reportedly stayed much longer than expected.

It was only five or six years ago that he was in high school. Now he’s a world champion.
