Wade posts thank-you to fans on Facebook
MIAMI (AP) -- Heat guard Dwyane Wade has posted a thank-you message to the 2 million fans who voted him into the NBA All-Star Game.
Wade taped a 28-second video that was released on his Facebook page Friday morning. He was the top votegetter at guard in Eastern Conference balloting, ensuring he'd be an All-Star for the seventh time in his eight seasons with Miami.
On the tape, Wade says "it's truly an honor" and that "it's something that I dreamed of as a kid."
Wade and LeBron James will be the first Eastern Conference teammates to start an All-Star game since Wade and Shaquille O'Neal represented Miami in 2007.
Wade was the MVP of last year's All-Star Game.
