Vikings add LB Josh Kaddu to active roster

Very thin at linebacker heading into Sunday's season-finale at home against the Chicago Bears, the Minnesota Vikings signed Josh Kaddu to their active roster on Saturday.

Kaddu, 24, spent the last 14 weeks on Minnesota's practice squad. To make room on the active roster for Kaddu, the Vikings placed rookie linebacker Anthony Barr on injured reserve. Barr had already been declared inactive and will have knee surgery.

Minnesota is also without rookie linebacker Brandon Watts and veteran Chad Greenway is questionable for Sunday's game with a knee injury.

Kaddu was a fifth-round draft pick by the Miami Dolphins in 2012 out of Oregon. He was active for five games in two seasons with Miami. The Vikings signed Kaddu to their practice squad after he spent the 2014 preseason with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Barr, the No. 9 overall pick in this year's NFL Draft, finished his rookie season with 70 tackles and four sacks in 12 games. He forced two fumbles and added three fumble recoveries, returning one for a touchdown in overtime to beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
