Video shows Rob Konrad with authorities after surviving swim to shore

Former Miami Dolphins fullback Rob Konrad captivated the sports world last month with his unbelievable survival story after a boating mishap turned into a horrifying 16-hour swim to shore.

Konrad, who fell from his 36-foot boat trying to reel in a fish, was unable to get back aboard his auto-piloted vessel and was forced to make what he said was a 27-mile swim for the coast on Jan. 7.

In this new video, shot by police cruiser cameras and obtained by TMZ Sports, a visibly exhausted Konrad is shown speaking with Palm Beach authorities shortly after making it safety.

"Is there any chance I can get a phone to let my family know I'm alive?" he asks an officer, who complies by calling Konrad's mother, Betty.

Konrad, 38, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach where he was treated for hypothermia and dehydration among other ailments.
