UW men's hockey swept by Penn State
The No. 17 Wisconsin Badgers men's hockey team lost for the second night in a row to the No. 10 Penn State Nittany Lions, 5-2.
Penn State jumped out to a 1-0 lead with 13:33 remaining in the first period and never looked back. Nate Sucese scored a career-high three points, including two goals in the first two periods, to lead the Penn State offensive attack.
Badgers captain Luke Kunin scored his 19th goal of the season to bring Wisconsin within one goal, but Penn State responded with two unanswered goals.
Wisconsin falls to second place in the Big Ten after the Minnesota Gophers came back to beat Ohio State for their ninth conference victory.
The Badgers were on a five-game winning streak before Penn State visited the Kohl Center this weekend. They will have a chance to even the season series with Penn State when they travel to Pennsylvania on March 3-4.
A white-out weekend awaits Wisconsin (15-10-1, 8-4-0-0 Big Ten) when Michigan visits the Kohl Center on Feb. 17-18.
