UA lands three-star Buckeye linebacker Miller
Arizona landed its second 2013 recruit in as many days Monday, securing a commitment from Buckeye linebacker DeAndre Miller.
The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Miller, rated a three-star recruit and the 42nd-best middle linebacker nationally by Scout.com, offered a verbal commitment while on his official visit to Tucscon. He was expected to visit Arizona State -- which offered a scholarship last week -- and Washington later in the month before trimming his list.
Buckeye coach Bobby Barnes told the Arizona Republic, "I didn't think he was going to commit. But once they get him in there, it is hard for him not to."
Miller, who reportedly runs the 40-yard dash in 4.65 seconds, also had offers from Boise State, Minnesota, Colorado State, Nevada, New Mexico, Wyoming and others. Scout lists Miller as the state's ninth-best prospect overall and second-best linebacker recruit, behind only Lakeside Blue Ridge's Chans Cox, who committed to ASU last week.
