Twins-Tigers game postponed because of rain

DETROIT -- Friday's game between the Minnesota Twins and Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park has been postponed due to rain. The game will be made up on Sunday at 6:05 p.m. CT.

That means the two teams will play a doubleheader on Sunday. They were originally scheduled to play a 1:10 p.m. CT game. Both games will air on FOX Sports North.

The Tigers entered Friday's contest two games behind the Chicago White Sox for first place in the American League Central. Detroit will now have to wait to try and make up ground on the White Sox. Chicago is playing a three-game road series this weekend against the Los Angeles Angels.

Samuel Deduno (6-4, 3.84 ERA) was scheduled to start Friday's game for Minnesota, while right-hander Rick Porcello (9-12, 4.57 ERA) was in line to start for Detroit.
