Twins reinstate Grossman, add RHP Tonkin

The Minnesota Twins made a series of roster moves Tuesday, reinstating designated hitter Robbie Grossman following a stint on the 10-day disabled list and a rehab assignment.

The Twins also selected the contract of right-handed pitcher Michael Tonkin, recalled fellow right-hander J.T. Chargois from Triple-A and placed him on the 60-day DL and optioned lefty Dietrich Enns to Double-A.

Grossman spent two games in Triple-A before rejoining the Twins after being placed on the DL on Aug. 17 with a thumb injury.

The switch-hitting DH is hitting .243 with seven home runs in 98 games this season.

Tonkin has made nine appearances for the Twins this season, allowing 14 hits and eight earned runs in 11 innings pitched.
