Twins reinstate Aaron Hicks from DL, recall LHP Logan Darnell from Triple-A

The Minnesota Twins announced a couple of roster moves on Friday that add depth as they continue their playoff push.

The team reinstated center fielder Aaron Hicks from the 15-day disabled list and recalled left-hander Logan Darnell from Triple-A Rochester.

Hicks, who missed 13 games with a left hamstring strain, had been on a rehab assignment with Rochester. In four contests with the Red Wings, he batted .412 (7 for 17) with two doubles and a home run. Before the injury, Hicks was hitting .283 with five home runs, 14 RBI and 16 runs scored in 24 games for Minnesota.

Darnell, who will join the Twins for their game Friday night in Houston, appeared in 35 games for the Red Wings, including seven starts. For the season, he was 5-1 with a 2.78 ERA and 66 strikeouts to 25 walks in 77 2/3 innings.
