Twins recall outfielder Buxton
The Minnesota Twins recalled outfielder Byron Buxton from the Triple-A Rochester Red Wings on Thursday, announcing that he will be available in time for their series-opener against the Chicago White Sox.
Buxton's struggles at the plate continued in his most recent stint with the Twins, his second of the season.
He hit .204/.257/.322 with a .580 OPS in 45 games during his most recent call-up, and has a career slash line of .199/.248/.319 at the MLB level.
Buxton has hit .305 with 49 RBI, 11 doubles, 11 home runs and three triples through 49 games in Triple-A this season.
Buxton was originally drafted by the Twins in the first round of the 2012 MLB Amateur Draft.
