Twins option outfielder LaMarre to Triple-A Rochester

The Minnesota Twins optioned outfielder Ryan LaMarre to Triple-A Rochester, the team announced Friday.

In six games this season (two starts), LaMarre went 4 of 8 from the plate with four singles, four strikeouts and one RBI.

The 29-year-old was a surprise to make the opening day roster, but he earned his way to the big leagues by tearing the cover off the ball in spring training. He finished camp with a .475/.511/.775 slash line, 10 RBI and seven extra-base hits.

The Twins announced they will make a corresponding roster move at a later date.
