Twins' Jose Berrios turns heads with nifty breaking ball

The Minnesota Twins are reshaping their franchise with an injection of youth and prospects.

Every Thursday for the rest of the season, FOX Sports North will take a closer look at some specific young players -- as well as noting others who might be stepping up -- measuring, highlighting and evaluating their progress.

This is the 4th edition of the 2017 Young Twins Tracker.

Jose Berrios (age 22)

*Now that he's in the majors this will be Berrios' last appearance in the Young Twins Tracker.

Last week: 2 games (2 starts), 2-0, 14 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 BB, 18 K

Season: 3 games (3 starts), 3-0, 1.66 ERA, 21.2 IP, 8 H, 3 HR, 4 BB, 22 K,

Season (Triple-A): 6 games (6 starts), 3-0, 1.13 ERA, 39.2 IP, 24 H, 0 HR, 8 BB, 39 K, .080 OBA, 0.391 WHIP

Notable: The hype surrounding Berrios' sophomore season went nuclear following his second start, an eight-inning shutout that featured 11 strikeouts. The raw numbers from his third start -- 6.1 innings, seven Ks, three solo home runs -- aren't quite as impressive, but that breaking ball. Just look at it.
