TUF Talk Hayder Hassan: 'I was trying to send them to the hospital'
Following several weeks of losses, American Top Team powered back on Wednesday night with a massive win as Hayder Hassan crushed Andrews Nakahara by knockout in just 48 seconds into the first round.
Hassan has been one of the most vocal members of American Top Team all season, but a lingering hand injury kept him from competing.
Once he was finally healthy, he couldn't accept a fight quick enough and he proved to his teammates and the Blackzilians that he is the real deal.
A lot of Hassan's anger stemmed from the weeks he spent in the Blackzilians' gym as the team continuously chanted 'u vai morrer', which is Portuguese for 'you're going to die' and he took it as a personal slight to himself and his family at American Top Team.
Hassan paid it back in a big way with his win over Nakahara.
"I had a mission to not only take them out but to hurt them. That's what I was going to try to do," Hassan told TUF Talk this week. "I wasn't trying to just knock them out, I was trying to send them to the hospital because I felt like they completely disrespected us."
Hassan promises that this won't be the last time you see him in the Octagon because his dream has been to fight in the UFC ever since he stepped into American Top Team for the first time.
This was a great victory, but there's more coming.
"I'm just getting warmed up. You haven't seen anything yet," Hassan said.
