Tsarnaev jury back to court to review penalty phase schedule

BOSTON (AP) Jurors in the federal death penalty trial of Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev (joh-HAHR' tsahr-NEYE'-ehv) are set to return to court so the judge can review the schedule for the second phase.

The jury will be back in court Tuesday.

In the trial's first phase, Tsarnaev was convicted of all 30 counts against him in the deadly 2013 attack. During the next phase, the same jury will be asked to decide whether to sentence him to life in prison or to death.

The penalty phase is set to begin April 21. The judge says the break between Tsarnaev's conviction and the penalty phase was a request from Tsarnaev's lawyers.

The delay means there won't be testimony April 15, the second anniversary of the bombing, or April 20, this year's race.
