Trout, Pujols 'lace up' to honor Ken Griffey, Jr

If you're going to risk a fancy pair of white 'kicks' on a dirt field, you might as well do it for a good reason.

With their socks pulled up to the knee, Albert Pujols and Mike Trout laced up these babies on Sunday in honor of Ken Griffey, Jr's Hall of Fame induction:

A first-ballot Hall of Famer, Griffey received 99.32 percent of the vote breaking the previous record of 98.84 held by Tom Seaver. The white and gold spiked donned by Trout and Pujols featured the former Mariners slugger's iconic 'Swingman' logo.

Unfortunately, it didn't bring either player or the team much luck. Trout left the game with the Angels down 12-1 in the sixth inning, while Pujols is 0-for-3 on the day.

It's a kind gesture honoring a great player, nonetheless.
