Thunder open 2013-14 season against Utah

The Thunder will start the season on the road against Utah and then Minnesota before coming home for a Nov. 3 opener against Phoenix.

The NBA released the 2013-14 regular-season schedule, and as expected, the Thunder are going to be a marquee team.

Oklahoma City’s first nationally televised game will be the home opener against the Suns on NBA-TV. The Thunder then will be on ESPN on Nov. 6 against the Mavericks in Oklahoma City.

Overall, the Thunder are on national TV 30 times, including a pair of games against the Miami Heat.

Other schedule highlights include a Christmas Day game at the Knicks and a home game on New Year’s Eve against Portland. The Thunder play 15 home games on Sunday and have 22 games on either Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Oklahoma City’s longest road trip of the season is a four-game trip to Houston, Phoenix, Sacramento and Los Angeles Clippers in early April. The Thunder finish the season with a home game against Detroit.

The Thunder have a six-game home stand early in the season, starting with Denver on Nov. 18 and finishing Dec. 1 against Minnesota.
