Three Takeaways from the Blue Jackets loss to Nashville

One: Inconsistent play has plagued this team, and tonight was no exception. The passing was atrocious. No look and stretch passes didn't connect. This was and is the hallmark of the "Mr. Hyde" version of this club. The answer seems to be in the room, yet is crippled by a lack of leadership. No one has taken ownership of the team and earned the right to be named the captain. At this point, expect the next game to fall into the "Dr. Jekyll" variety of game as a good one.

Two:
From the beginning of the 1st period, Columbus was man-handled off the puck. This continued throughout the game. The "physical factor" wasn't there. Also, the guys playing with Ryan Johansen failed to see that he was double-teamed throughout the game, leaving someone open. They never capitalized on this. Their vision needs to be much better to see this type of play developing.
Three: Shoot. The. Puck. By period, Columbus had 4, 8, 7 for a grand total of 19 shots on goal. They've gotten away from going to the greasy areas around the goal and pouncing on a rebound. It's maddening how the ebb and flow of their play doesn't just flow. Why go away from something that works and pays dividends in goals? Yes, it's tough and physical in front of the crease. But good things happen, as has been proven.
