Three takeaways from the Blue Jackets 5-3 loss to the Capitals
One: In Bobrovsky's first game back from a groin injury, he faced 16 shots on goal in the first 20 minutes, giving new meaning to the term "trial by fire." They were unable to sustain any pressure in the offensive zone. Not the most auspicious of starts for the young team, post-trade deadline.
Two: The middle frame was a virtual reenactment of the movie "Roadhouse", which carried over into the third period. Both teams combined for 80 penalty minutes. Cody Goloubef had the pleasure of dropping his gloves for the first fight of his NHL career.
Three: Once again, they didn't play a complete 60 minute game. A slow start combined with chasing the score against a team like Washington many times will spell disaster. Although they were keeping the puck in the offensive zone for the final stanza, it didn't pan out the way they planned.
