Russell Bellomy, a three-star dual-threat quarterback from Arlington, Texas, switched his oral commitment Tuesday from Purdue to Michigan after visiting Ann Arbor the past couple of days.

The Wolverines also received a commitment from Antonio Poole, a four-star linebacker from Cincinnati. Poole made his announcement Tuesday night at halftime of his basketball game. He picked Michigan over Pittsburgh and Kentucky. Poole is ranked by Scout.com as the No. 13 outside linebacker nationally.

Poole's decision came a day after Michigan defensive coordinator Greg Mattison made an in-home visit.

New coach Brady Hoke has received six commitments in the past six days, while another player, offensive tackle Tony Posada from Tampa, Fla., confirmed his earlier commitment made to the previous coaching staff.

Michigan has a total of 16 commitments, including three linebackers. Players can sign official letters of intent beginning Feb. 2.

Bellomy (6-feet-3, 185 pounds) is ranked by Scout.com as the No. 39 quarterback in the nation. As a senior, he rushed for 804 yards and nine touchdowns, and passed for 1,564 yards, 15 touchdowns and four interceptions.

Quarterback became a position of need for Michigan after Tate Forcier left the program. The Wolverines currently have only two quarterbacks, Denard Robinson and Devin Gardner, on scholarship.
