Texas Tech dismisses running back Daniels
Texas Tech sophomore running back Ronnie Daniels is no longer part of the program.
The team released a statement Wednesday stating that Daniels has been dismissed for violating team rules and will not be reinstated.
Daniels played in just one game in 2011 and was suspended following that game for violating team rules. He was reinstated this spring and worked out with the team and played in the spring game last weekend. In the spring game, Daniels ran for 52 yards and had 38 receiving yards.
Daniels, who is from New Mexico, had nine carries for 44 yards and a touchdown in a 59-13 victory over New Mexico. That was the only action he saw with Texas Tech.
