Texans' Clowney was 'dozing off' when Nick Saban recruited him

Alabama coach Nick Saban annually brings in one of the top recruiting classes, but the nation's No. 1 high school prospect in 2010 wasn't impressed.

According to the new book, "Saban: The Making of a Coach," Houston Texans linebacker and former South Carolina defensive star Jadeveon Clowney had no interest in the Crimson Tide after an in-home visit from Saban in December 2010.

Saban's defenses didn't struggle without him as he won back-to-back national championships at Alabama in 2011-12.

Clowney went on to play for Steve Spurrier's Gamecocks before being the No. 1 overall NFL Draft pick by the Texans in 2014.
