Suspended wide receiver Antonio Callaway not enrolled for summer at Florida

DESTIN, Fla. (AP) -- Suspended Florida receiver Antonio Callaway is not enrolled in summer classes, raising more questions about whether he will play for the Gators this fall.

Callaway was suspended by the school in January for violating the university's code of conduct policy. Quarterback Treon Harris, who is expected to switch to receiver if he returns to school, also remains suspended indefinitely.

Coach Jim McElwain has repeatedly declined to disclose details about the nature of their suspensions. Callaway's attorney has said the allegation "has no merit."

Asked Tuesday whether he has seen or spoken to Callaway recently, McElwain responded "that's being handled."

Callaway played in every game as a freshman last season. He caught for 35 passes for 678 yards and four touchdowns. He also returned 28 punts for 435 yards and two scores.
