Superstar John Cena set to drive pace car, but coy about Wrestlemania 32

WWE superstar John Cena will be the honorary pace car driver in this afternoon's 58th annual Daytona 500 (FOX, noon ET), but whether his damaged right shoulder will allow him to compete in WrestleMania 32 on April 3 remains TBD.

In a spirited and lively interview before NASCAR's biggest race, the 15-time world champion said his odds of returning for WrestleMania 32 are not at all set. "Percentage-wise, I'm somewhere between zero and 100," Cena said. "That's a safe estimation for me."

Cena noted he was six weeks out from rotator-cuff surgery on his shoulder.

"As far as me participating in WrestleMania 32, the Magic 8-Ball says 'ask again later,'" Cena joked.

Then, more seriously, he said his participation or lack thereof will depend on how rapid his recovery is.

"It would be personally unfortunate for me to miss WrestleMania," said Cena. "But if I can't perform, it would be unfortunate for the people watching WrestleMania to see me suffer through something that isn't worthy of the event.

"I take a very unselfish approach to my job and what I do because people spend their hard-earned money to enjoy what we do," added Cena. "And our goal is to deliver the best show possible. If I can contribute to that, great. If I can't then, it not helping any of fans ... we'll see how it works."

If it doesn't happen in April, there's always next year and beyond.

"I know there will be a WrestleMania 33 and 34 and 35," said Cena. "And hopefully 100."
