Suns waive guard Dionte Christmas
The Phoenix Suns, who appear well set in the backcourt, waived guard Dionte Christmas on Thursday.
Christmas averaged 2.3 points, 1.2 rebounds and 6.4 minutes while appearing in 31 games last season as an NBA rookie.
The Suns recently signed free agent guard Isaiah Thomas, who joins third-team All-NBA point guard Goran Dragic and, potentially, restricted free agent guard Eric Bledsoe, whom the Suns continue to say they expect to re-sign. First-round pick Tyler Ennis is among the Suns' other options in a backcourt flush with point guards.
Christmas, 27, went undrafted out of Temple in 2009 and played for several teams overseas before making his NBA debut last season. He averaged 10.6 points for the Suns in this month's NBA Summer League.
